Monday Musings: Happiness Project-October
A new month and new goals!
I feel invigorated by the cooler air, the cozy, dusky nights, and the fact that harvest is nearly over! I’m going to channel that energy towards dominating some goals for my October Happiness Project!
So this month is all about hustling!
1. Happy #Blogtober!
Autumn produce is so inspiring, so I’m going to set the lofty goal of blogging one post every day of the month! I have never accomplished that goal in the 8 years I’ve been blogging, but I’m going to attempt it!
Plus, I have an extra special treat that’ll be posted one week before Halloween to get you in the celebrating spirit!
I have a really hard time with this one because at the end of the day I just want to relax, but I’m very passionate about improving my photography which will help bring you all better content!
My goal is to do one lesson per day!
3. edX class
edX offers free online courses from real universities! I want to pursue a few topics that I’ve been curious about, so it’s my goal to complete one online class this month!
My boyfriend also gifted me a free course to Shaw Academy from his T-Mobile Tuesday that I want to finish this month too.
4. Finish 13 by Halloween
Vlogger Bryndis mainly make videos about the keto diet, but she made some last October about finishing 13 different health and beauty products to finish in one month.
As I strongly desire to switch to better beauty products, like Beauty Counter, I really want to use a bunch of things up so I also don’t create clutter, which I have been working hard to decrease.
5. Listen to Side Hustle School
Chris Guillebeau post a short podcast every day about people developing successful side hustles. Since this blog is my side hustle, of course I want to optimize it!
6. Read 30 min a day
I loved getting through 5 books in one month, and this month I have a great lineup:
The Four Tendencies by Gretchen Rubin
Side Hustle by Chris Guillebeau
Born For This by Chris Guillebeau
The Female Brain by Louann Brizendine
The Quarter-Life Breakthrough by Adam Smiley Poswolksky
7. Exercise 20 min
If I don’t track it, I forget how long it’s been since I’ve been to the gym.
I’m not athletically-inclined and it’s just not a natural part of my lifestyle to go to the gym.
8. Make bed in the morning
This is a habit that has slipped since earlier Happiness Projects.
It feels so good to crawl into a bed that’s been made. It’s like a little treat for myself.
9. No dishes in the sink at night
Another habit that has slipped since earlier Happiness Projects.
I love to cook, but hate doing dishes. I must have a little streak of masochism. But I love waking up to order in the morning and a few dishes or some pans on the stove throws off the order of my morning. I want everything to be as streamlined as possible.
